This series of accumulators features versions specifically designed for the LX470 and LX570 models. They function as essential energy storage components within the Active Height Control (AHC) system and the ABS hydraulic brake system of these vehicles. Notably, these accumulators are tailored to their respective chassis and are not interchangeable between different model platforms.
Utilizing a diaphragm-type spherical design for high-pressure energy storage, each accumulator is pre-charged with standardized high-purity nitrogen prior to shipment. Their primary role involves storing hydraulic energy and mitigating hydraulic shock by compressing and releasing the internal nitrogen gas. In the suspension system, one accumulator is mounted adjacent to each shock absorber on all four wheels, with distinct specifications assigned to the front and rear axles. Meanwhile, the brake accumulator is integrated within the hydraulic circuit connected to the ABS master cylinder.
Over time, original accumulators may experience diaphragm deterioration or nitrogen leakage, which can lead to a range of common issues. These problems include vehicle sagging after being parked, intense chassis bouncing when traversing bumps, malfunctioning ride height adjustments, a spongy brake pedal feel, and the illumination of the ABS warning light.
