Product Description:

The ASCO solenoid valve portfolio offers an extensive selection of high-performance valves, meticulously engineered to ensure reliable control across diverse fields such as industrial automation, process control, and hazardous area applications. This comprehensive range includes multiple series, each tailored to meet specific operational requirements.

The 551 and 8551 Series consist of pilot-operated spool valves, specifically designed for pneumatic control applications. These valves feature a NAMUR interface and boast a convertible design, enabling a single valve to operate as either a 3/2-way or 5/2-way valve. This versatility makes them suitable for both single-acting and double-acting actuators. The 551 series, in particular, provides a highly adaptable platform ideal for various pneumatic systems.

The 8320 and 320 Series include direct-acting and some pilot-operated 3/2-way valves intended for a wide range of general service uses. Notably, these valves can operate effectively without requiring a minimum pressure differential, enhancing their functionality across different applications.

The 8210 and 8262 Series are pilot-operated 2/2-way valves designed for general service applications involving liquids, corrosive substances, air, and inert gases. The 210/8210 series is recognized for its economical and high-flow characteristics, while the 8262 series is known as a durable and robust 2/2-way valve option.

The 531 Series features spool valves that provide 3/2 or 5/2-way functions, frequently available with intrinsically safe (IS) options to ensure enhanced safety in hazardous environments.

Additionally, the 210 Series includes models such as the 8210G094, which are suitable for handling both liquid and gas services efficiently.

ASCO valves are manufactured using a variety of materials, including black anodized aluminum, brass, and 316L stainless steel bodies. Seal options such as NBR, PUR, and FKM are available to accommodate different operational conditions. The valves come in multiple configurations—2/2-way, 3/2-way, and 5/2-way—with choices between single and double solenoid designs to support either spring return or bistable operation modes.

Many valve models incorporate NAMUR mounting interfaces and provide protection ratings of IP65, IP66, or IP67. For demanding and hazardous applications, explosion-proof versions are available, meeting certifications such as ATEX, IECEx, UL, and CSA. Furthermore, low-power variants are offered, catering to specific energy-efficient requirements.

Features:

551 / 8551 Series (Spool Valves)

The 551 and 8551 series feature threaded port connections with a NAMUR style interface, allowing for direct mounting of actuators. These spool valves offer versatile functionality, as the same valve can be configured for either 3/2 Normally Closed or 5/2 function, adapting to various operational needs.

All exhaust ports are designed to be connectable, which enhances environmental protection by enabling pipable exhaust systems. This feature is especially valuable in clean room environments where contamination control is critical. Additionally, these valves come with TÜV (for the 551 series) and EXIDA (for the 551-553 series) certifications, guaranteeing safety integrity levels of SIL 2 (HFT=0) and SIL 3 (HFT=1).

For convenience, a standard manual operator is included, facilitating straightforward commissioning and maintenance procedures.

8320 / 320 Series (Direct-Acting)

The 8320 and 320 series are designed for a broad range of general-service applications. They operate efficiently without requiring a minimum pressure differential, which expands their usability across various systems.

Moreover, these direct-acting valves can be installed in any position, providing flexibility in mounting and application.

8210 / 8262 Series (General Service)

These economical valves are designed to deliver high flow rates and are suitable for handling liquids, corrosive substances, as well as air and inert gases. They are built with durability in mind, and bodies are available in brass or stainless steel to accommodate different media and environmental conditions.

531 Series

The 531 series valves offer flexible functionality, available in both 3/2-way and 5/2-way configurations. They are intrinsically safe and certified for use in hazardous areas, operating under limited current and voltage to ensure safety and compliance.

Features Across All Series

All series provide a selection of body materials including aluminum, brass, and stainless steel, catering to diverse application requirements. Voltage options are plentiful, supporting DC 24V, AC 24V, AC 120V, AC 220V, and more.

For use in hazardous environments, explosion-proof variants are offered with ATEX and IECEx certifications. Additionally, low power consumption models are available to suit remote or alternative power setups.

Performance-wise, 1/4" models generally accommodate flow rates up to 700 liters per minute, while larger 1/2" models can handle flows as high as 3000 liters per minute, ensuring efficient operation across various applications.
