This series of solenoid valves utilizes a pilot-operated working principle, where the pilot valve manages the movement of the main spool. The pilot valve is energized by the solenoid coil, while the main spool is actuated by the pressure difference of the fluid medium. This approach enables a low-power solenoid coil to control high flow rates efficiently, enhancing energy savings and suitability for high-pressure applications.
In its default state, the valve remains normally open, allowing fluid to pass through when de-energized. Upon energizing the solenoid coil, the valve closes, stopping the flow. This normally open configuration is ideal for safety-critical scenarios where fluid flow must continue during power outages, such as in cooling systems or emergency venting setups.
The valve operates using a single solenoid control mechanism. By activating or deactivating the single solenoid coil, the valve alternates between open and closed positions. When the coil is de-energized, the valve automatically reverts to the normally open state by the force of a spring or pressure from the medium, ensuring straightforward and reliable operation.
Thanks to the pilot-operated construction and an optimized internal flow path, these solenoid valves provide excellent flow capacity. Depending on the specific model, flow rates vary from 610 liters per minute up to 2600 liters per minute, accommodating a wide range of medium to large flow demands.
The valves generally operate within a pressure range of 0.2 MPa to 1.0 MPa (equivalent to 2 to 10 bar), with certain models capable of handling pressures as high as 1.6 MPa (16 bar). It is essential for pilot-operated valves to maintain a minimum pressure differential—typically above 0.2 to 0.3 bar—for optimal function.
Constructed from die-cast aluminum alloy or aluminum extrusion, the valve bodies offer lightweight yet strong and corrosion-resistant features. The internal spool and sleeve come in either metal-sealed variants for long service life or soft-sealed designs to enable higher flow capacity. Sealing materials such as NBR and FKM are used, making the valves compatible with compressed air and various other mediums.
The solenoid coils are designed for low power consumption, with some models operating at only 1 to 2 watts, significantly conserving energy. Additionally, these valves possess a protection rating typically reaching IP65, which guarantees dust-tightness and protection from water jets, rendering them suitable for use in humid or dusty industrial environments.
Each valve includes a standard manual override feature, available as either a push-button or a twist-lock knob. This functionality facilitates commissioning, maintenance, and emergency manual control without reliance on electrical input.
The valves are equipped with port threads commonly sized as G1/4, G3/8, or G1/2 British pipe threads, adhering to international standards for seamless integration with various pneumatic parts. They support both inline piping and sub-base mounting styles, offering flexibility to match different system installation requirements.
These systems are extensively utilized across various automated assembly lines, material handling setups, and packaging machinery. They are designed to manage single-acting cylinders responsible for essential functions like clamping, positioning, and pushing, thereby fulfilling the prerequisites for high-frequency and highly reliable control operations.
The standard component for managing single-acting pneumatic actuators—including single-acting cylinders, diaphragm valves, and pneumatic grippers—is the 3/2-way solenoid valve. A normally open (NO) configuration is especially advantageous in safety interlock scenarios where the valve must automatically open or close in the event of a power outage, such as emergency venting mechanisms.
In processes that require routine purging or pressure relief, this valve plays a crucial role in controlling the on/off flow of compressed air. It is commonly applied in systems like filter blowback operations, surface dust removal devices, and safety relief circuits for air receiver tanks.
These valves are widely implemented in filling machines, sealing machines, labeling units, blow molding machines, and other packaging equipment. Their role is to regulate the swift action of pneumatic actuators, ensuring that production cycles remain efficient and that packaging precision is maintained.
In automotive production lines, these valves are used extensively in welding fixtures, painting apparatus, assembly stations, and parts processing machine tools. They control pneumatic tooling and auxiliary devices, with specifications optimized for oil resistance, vibration durability, and long operational lifespan.
Suitable for pneumatic control systems in food processing, these components are utilized in blow molding, filling, and sealing processes. By carefully selecting sealing materials and lubrication techniques that comply with food-grade standards, they help guarantee safety and hygiene throughout production.
This technology is employed in valve control systems within environmental protection facilities, such as thermal power plants, wastewater treatment plants, and exhaust gas treatment units. They drive pneumatic control valves and on/off valves to facilitate automated process control and enable remote operations.
Certain valve models are engineered to operate effectively across wide temperature ranges, for example from –10°C up to +50°C or even beyond. In low-temperature environments, the use of dry air is recommended to prevent freezing. Additionally, in areas with explosion-proof requirements, optional explosion-proof coils are available to meet rigorous safety standards.
