Product Description:

The Graco Husky Series air-operated double diaphragm (AODD) pumps represent top-tier solutions for fluid transfer, designed with a focus on durability, efficiency, and minimal upkeep. These pumps come in a variety of sizes ranging from 3/8″ to 3″, offering flow rates between 7 GPM and 260 GPM. This versatility allows the Husky series to handle tasks spanning from light chemical dosing to demanding heavy industrial fluid transfer applications.

Central to each Husky pump is its advanced diaphragm system, which is available in several material options tailored to meet different fluid compatibility needs. These materials include PTFE (Teflon®), Santoprene™ (GE – Graco Engineered Thermoplastic), Nitrile (Buna-N), and Viton® (FKM). To support maintenance and ensure reliability, Graco provides both individual diaphragms and comprehensive fluid section repair kits. These kits contain diaphragms, balls, seats, O-rings, and center shafts, enabling a complete and dependable rebuild of the pump.

The Husky line boasts several key innovations that enhance performance and serviceability. Among these are stall-free low pulsation air valves, which facilitate smooth and rapid changeovers. The pumps also feature one-piece center sections that prevent air leaks and reduce maintenance efforts. Furthermore, the diaphragm life in Husky pumps is up to five times longer compared to other AODD pumps in the same category. Select models offer up to a 40% increase in efficiency. Additionally, the air valves are designed for external serviceability, allowing maintenance without the need to uninstall the pump.

Features:

Features Across All Husky Series

The stall-free low pulsation air valve ensures a smooth and rapid changeover, which helps reduce fluid shock and extends the life of the diaphragm. This design enhances overall performance and durability.

A one-piece center section eliminates the risk of air leaks, resulting in more efficient operation and easier maintenance. This seamless design simplifies the upkeep of the system.

The four-bolt fluid cover joint design applies even sealing pressure, providing leak-free operation. This robust construction contributes to reliable and consistent performance.

Because the pump uses no mechanical seals, it removes a common failure point found in other pump types, increasing reliability and reducing downtime.

Quiet operation is a key benefit, as the pumps run at less than 85 dBa. Additionally, a remote muffler option is available for even lower noise levels, making the pumps suitable for noise-sensitive environments.

Multiple porting options, including center and end port configurations, provide installation flexibility to meet various application needs.

The pumps are ATEX and CE certified, making them suitable for use in hazardous environments where safety standards are critical.

Lube-free operation reduces maintenance needs and eliminates the risk of oil contamination, ensuring cleaner and more reliable performance.

Diaphragm-Specific Features

PTFE (Teflon®) diaphragms offer excellent chemical resistance, making them ideal for handling aggressive solvents, acids, and caustics.

Santoprene™ (GE) diaphragms are Graco-engineered thermoplastics that provide outstanding wear resistance and flexibility, suitable for general-purpose applications.

Nitrile (Buna-N) diaphragms deliver superior resistance to oil and fuels, enhancing durability in such environments.

Two-piece PTFE/EPDM diaphragm designs are available for select models, combining chemical resistance with enhanced flexibility to address diverse application requirements.

Overmolded diaphragm designs offer extended service life and improved sealing performance, contributing to reduced downtime and maintenance costs.

Service Kit Features

The complete fluid section rebuild kits include diaphragms, balls, seats, O-rings, and the center shaft where applicable, providing everything necessary for thorough pump maintenance.

All parts are genuine OEM components made from factory-specified materials, ensuring proper fit and maximum service life.

Service kits are application-matched, allowing selection of materials tailored to specific fluid compatibility requirements for optimal performance.

Support and Services:

Our Pulse Valve Diaphragm is designed for optimal performance and durability in demanding industrial applications. To ensure reliable operation, it is important to follow proper installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting guidelines.

Installation: Before installing the diaphragm, verify that the valve and housing are clean and free from debris. Carefully align the diaphragm to avoid twisting or damage. Use the recommended tools and follow the torque specifications to secure the diaphragm properly.

Maintenance: Regular inspection of the diaphragm is essential to prevent unexpected failures. Check for signs of wear, cracks, or deformation. Replace the diaphragm if any damage is observed. Clean the diaphragm with a soft cloth and mild detergent; avoid harsh chemicals that could degrade the material.

Troubleshooting: Common issues with pulse valve diaphragms include air leakage, reduced pulse strength, and valve sticking. If leakage occurs, inspect the diaphragm for tears and ensure proper seating. Reduced pulse strength may indicate diaphragm fatigue or contamination; cleaning or replacement may be necessary. For valve sticking, check for debris in the valve assembly and ensure that the diaphragm is not obstructed.

For optimal results, always use original replacement diaphragms and follow the recommended service intervals. Our technical support team is available to assist with any product-related inquiries or troubleshooting needs to maximize the lifespan and performance of your pulse valve diaphragm.
