The Burkert 6281 series belongs to the S.EV range of servo-assisted 2/2-way diaphragm solenoid valves. It is engineered to provide dependable shut-off, precise dosing, and efficient filling of neutral gaseous and liquid media. Constructed with a stainless steel body combined with an EPDM (ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) seal, this valve delivers outstanding corrosion resistance and maintains flexibility even at low temperatures, making it ideal for demanding industrial environments.
To operate correctly, the valve requires a minimum differential pressure. Its robust, vibration-resistant coil system, centrally screwed and thoughtfully damped, ensures quiet closing action and extends the valve’s service life. The standard model features a brass housing that complies with all European drinking water standards (KTW/W270). For markets that demand it, a version made of dezincification-resistant brass is also available. Additionally, a stainless steel variation further broadens the product range.
Power efficiency is enhanced by the option to use coils equipped with "Kick and Drop" (KD) electronics assembly, which implements double coil technology to reduce energy consumption during operation. The valve also includes a manual override feature, simplifying maintenance and commissioning procedures. When paired with a suitably certified cable plug according to DIN EN 175301-803 Form A, the valve assembly meets the requirements of the IP65 protection class. Using a stainless steel housing further enables compliance with the NEMA 4X standard.
Installation flexibility is a key advantage of the Burkert 6281 series, as the valve can be mounted in any orientation. However, it is recommended to position the actuator upright to optimize performance and durability.
The body is constructed from stainless steel, which ensures excellent resistance to corrosion. This makes it ideal for use with aggressive media and in demanding environmental conditions.
The seal is made from EPDM (Ethylene-Propylene-Diene Rubber), providing superior resistance to water, dilute acids, alkalis, and various other media. It supports a media temperature range from -30°C up to +90°C, and can handle up to +100°C when paired with an epoxy coil.
This design ensures dependable performance for shut-off, dosing, and filling applications involving neutral and mildly aggressive media, enhancing operational reliability.
Featuring a circuit function A (NC), this configuration provides fail-safe operation, making it suitable for critical process control scenarios.
Available port sizes range from G1/4 to G2, accompanied by orifice sizes between 10 mm and 40 mm. This variety allows for matching different flow requirements effectively.
The valve operates efficiently over a broad pressure spectrum, from as low as 0.2 bar up to 16 bar, accommodating diverse system conditions.
Equipped with standard 8W coils, these components deliver a 100% continuous duty cycle, ensuring reliable and long-lasting operation.
To ensure global compatibility, the valve is available in various voltage options including DC 24V, AC 24V, and AC 220V, all with a ±10% tolerance.
The device boasts an IP65 / NEMA 4X rating, making it dust-tight and protected against water jets when used with an appropriate cable plug, suitable for harsh environments.
A centrally screwed coil system prevents loosening, ensuring secure and stable operation even in challenging industrial settings with significant vibrations.
The valve features a damped design that minimizes noise during closing, making it ideal for use in noise-sensitive environments.
With Kick-and-Drop (KD) double coil technology, the valve reduces power consumption during operation, promoting energy efficiency.
A manual override is available to facilitate easy maintenance and commissioning, enhancing serviceability.
The standard brass housing complies with all European drinking water regulations, ensuring it is safe for potable water applications.
For hazardous area applications, ATEX certified explosion-proof versions are available, ensuring safe use in potentially explosive atmospheres.
The valve can be installed in any position; however, installation with the actuator positioned upright is recommended for optimal performance.

Burkert solenoid valves are designed to provide reliable and precise control of fluids and gases in a wide range of industrial applications. Our technical support team is dedicated to assisting you with product selection, installation guidance, troubleshooting, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of your solenoid valve.
For installation, it is important to follow the specified flow direction indicated on the valve body. Ensure that the operating voltage matches the valve coil specifications and that the power supply is stable. Proper filtration of the media is recommended to prevent contamination and prolong valve life.
During operation, monitor the valve for any unusual noises, vibrations, or leaks. If the valve fails to actuate, verify electrical connections and coil resistance. In case of coil burnout or mechanical failure, replacement parts are readily available through authorized distributors.
Regular maintenance includes periodic cleaning of the valve internals and inspection of seals and diaphragms. Avoid exposure to media or environmental conditions outside the valve's specified limits to prevent damage.
