Product Description:

The ZFC series consists of compact, in-line air suction filters designed specifically to safeguard vacuum equipment from dust, particles, and other contaminants. These impurities can cause operational issues within pneumatic vacuum circuits. By being installed directly in the suction line, positioned between the vacuum generator and the suction cup, the filters effectively prevent debris from entering critical components such as vacuum pumps, ejectors, and valves. This protection significantly extends the service life of these essential vacuum parts.

One notable feature of the ZFC series is its dual-pressure functionality. Each unit can handle vacuum pressure as low as −100 kPa as well as positive pressure up to 1.0 MPa. This versatility makes the filters ideal for circuits that combine vacuum and blow-off functions, eliminating the need for separate filter units. Additionally, the filter’s one-touch fittings allow for rapid, tool-free connection and disconnection of tubing. The cartridge-type element inside can be replaced easily by simply opening the cover with a single touch, even while the filter remains connected to the piping system.

The ZFC filter series accommodates a variety of port sizes, ranging from ø4 mm to ø12 mm in metric measurements and ø5/32″ to ø3/8″ in inch sizes. Recommended flow rates under vacuum conditions span from 10 L/min to 100 L/min (ANR). Users can select filtration levels of either 5 μm or 10 μm, with the standard 10 μm filter element achieving approximately 95% filtration efficiency. The filter case is transparent and constructed from a special clear nylon, though some variants come with a polycarbonate case as standard. This allows for easy visual inspection of the filter element’s contamination status. Models with the B suffix include a mounting bracket for secure installation on panels or machinery.

Features:

This unit offers dual compatibility with both positive and vacuum pressures, capable of handling a vacuum up to −100 kPa and positive pressures up to 1.0 MPa. Its versatile design makes it suitable for a wide range of applications.

Installation and maintenance are simplified thanks to the one-touch fittings. These enable quick, tool-free connection and disconnection of tubes, improving efficiency and reducing downtime.

The cartridge-type element allows for rapid replacement. By simply opening the cover with one touch—without using any tools—even while the unit remains connected to the piping, maintenance becomes hassle-free.

A built-in lock mechanism ensures that no components scatter or fall off when the unit is loosened during positive pressure operations, enhancing safety and convenience.

The transparent case, made from a special clear nylon or polycarbonate, permits easy visual inspection of the element’s condition, allowing users to monitor contamination levels at a glance.

Filtration options include 5 μm or 10 μm elements, with the 10 μm standard element providing a filtration efficiency of 95%. This ensures effective filtering performance for various requirements.

Constructed from molded resin, the unit is both compact and lightweight. Particularly, the ZFC100 series weighs only 11.5 grams, facilitating easy handling and installation.

Models with a B suffix come with an included mounting bracket, enabling secure and stable installation in different setups.

The product supports a broad range of port sizes, accommodating metric tubing from ø4 to ø12 mm as well as inch tubing from ø5/32″ to ø3/8″, providing flexibility for diverse piping systems.

With flow rates ranging from 10 to 100 liters per minute (ANR), it is well-suited for small to medium vacuum circuits, meeting various operational demands.

It is compatible with several tubing materials, including nylon, soft nylon, polyurethane, and soft polyurethane, thereby offering versatility in installation.

The operating temperature range spans from 0 to 60°C, ensuring reliable performance without the risk of freezing under typical environmental conditions.

Regarding element durability, the ZFC10 and ZFC20 series provide differential pressure resistance up to 0.15 MPa, while the ZFC05 series is rated for 0.10 MPa, guaranteeing robust performance under varying pressure conditions.

Applications:

Vacuum suction cup protection plays a crucial role in preventing dust and other particles from entering the vacuum circuit. This safeguard helps to avoid damage to essential components such as ejectors and pumps, ensuring the longevity and reliability of the system.

In pick-and-place systems, filtration is implemented on the robotic hands and material handling suction lines. This filtration helps maintain the cleanliness and efficiency of the vacuum lines during precise handling operations.

The semiconductor and electronics manufacturing sectors rely on vacuum circuit protection for various tasks. These include chip picking, optical lens handling, and precision assembly, where contamination control is vital to maintaining product quality.

Automotive assembly processes use vacuum adsorption for transferring and retaining body panels and components. Effective filtration in these vacuum systems ensures consistent performance and prevents malfunctions.

In the food and medical equipment industries, vacuum filtration is applied during packaging, processing, and medical device assembly. This helps uphold hygiene standards and guarantees the safe handling of sensitive materials.

Printing machinery benefits from vacuum hold-down and transfer filtration to secure materials accurately during printing operations. This filtration improves the quality and efficiency of the printing process.

Automatic transfer equipment incorporates filtration to protect vacuum generators and valves within automated production lines. This protection is critical to maintaining operational continuity and preventing breakdowns.

Additionally, combined vacuum and blow-off circuits often utilize a single filter. This filter effectively manages both vacuum adsorption and positive-pressure release, simplifying system design and enhancing functionality.
